By Daniel Smithson Staff writer The outer shell of what will be student housing and a retail destination in midtown remains with few workers trying to complete it. Coral Gables- based Roger Development Group executives halted construction at the site of what will be Midtown Apartments, located at 104 NW 17th St ., because of plans to make interior changes. Oscar Roger Jr ., vice president of the development group , said in construction when interior design changes occur, plumbing does as well. So while design changes were being ironed out, construction was slowed to avoid the costs of having people work in the meantime and potentially having to reroute plumbing again if more changes were made. COATESVILLE >> A city man who’s had previous run-ins with the law suffered a non-fatal shooting at the Regency Park Apartments on Monday night, and he’s now in intensive care . Police were called to the 600 block of Victoria Drive at approximately 9:47 p.m. for a shooting, and upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Jamil Battle, who was shot once in the lower back, police said. Battle was then transported to Paoli Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is currently in the intensive care unit , police said. Coatesville Police Chief Jack Laufer said Battle was found inside an apartment when police arrived on the scene, but it’s unclear where Battle was when he was shot. Advertisement Neighbors reported witnessing a vehicle fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting, but an accurate description of the suspected vehicle was not yet available, Laufer said.
