Golden Inn & Village retroactive changes scheduled for hearing | Local News

Two Santa Ynez Valley projects and another in Gaviota affecting a wide area of the county are slated for public hearings Thursday before the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission . The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in Room 17 of the Engineering Building, 123 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara. Commissioners are scheduled to hear a request to revise the development plan for the Golden Inn and Village in Santa Ynez, which is strongly opposed by neighbors, and a request to subdivide an existing 860- acre parcel north of Buellton into four parcels. The commission will also hear a request from the county to amend the overlay designation for the Tajiguas Landfill in Gaviota, determine the revised Tajiguas Resource and Recovery Project conforms to the comprehensive plan and adopt an addendum, revision letter and errata to the environmental impact report . Controversial Overlook at Roland Park moves forward

A controversial North Baltimore apartment project cleared its final hurdle when Mayor Catherine Pugh ratified its designation as a planned unit development . Developer Blue Ocean can start work on the roughly $40 million Overlook at Roland Park. The Baltimore- based developer plans a six-story, 148- unit luxury apartment building on the wooded 12-acre parcel near the intersection of Falls Road and Northern Parkway in North Roland Park . The project faced significant opposition from some residents in North Roland Park concerned about increased traffic, despite receiving the support of two neighborhood associations. Blue Ocean has agreed to preserve more than half the site for forest conservation or green space. The project includes a parking garage, swimming pool, fitness center, media room and an indoor sports court . The company owns a 23.3-acre piece of land north of the East Vail Interstate 70 interchange . That land is current zoned for two-family primary and secondary zoning — duplex units. The company wants to change that. In documents to be submitted Monday to the Vail Community Development Department , Vail Resorts is asking to subdivide and rezone the property. Bronxville’s Carlson Real Estate merges with ERA Insite Realty of White Plains Two family- owned Westchester real estate firms merged this week, the Westchester Business Journal reported . Bronxville’s Carson Real Estate , founded in 1972 by Marie Carlson and now run by her son Craig, will join ERA Insite Realty , a franchise of ERA that has operated as a family business in White Plains for 32 years. Previous to this, the Carlson brokerage was a franchise of Coldwell Banker. Craig Carlson will become an associate broker at ERA and will bring 20 brokers with him.
