JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man was shot near his front door as he arrived to his Westside apartment shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The victim had just arrived home at the Canterbury Gardens Apartments at 1500 Lane Avenue when the suspect attempted to rob the victim. During the course of the robbery, the victim was shot once in the leg. The injury was called life threatening by police. The victim was armed and fired back as the suspect. RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Richmond are investigating after one woman was found shot to death inside a vehicle and another wounded at an apartment complex in the city’s southside Thursday night . At around 10:40 p.m., police were called to 220 Green Cove Drive at the Blue Ridge Estates apartment complex . Once there, they found one woman who had been shot in the leg and another woman dead inside a vehicle. The woman inside the vehicle, who has been identified as 33-year-old Karen A. Turner of North Chesterfield, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine a cause and manner of death. The female victim who had been shot was transported to a local hospital with non- life threatening injuries . Family members say the beauty shop Turner owned , SewIns Express, was doing so well that she had plans of expanding into North Carolina. RICHMOND, Va. -- One woman was killed and a second woman was hurt after an argument led to a shooting outside a South Richmond apartment complex . The fatal shots were fired on Green Cove Drive , outside the Blue Ridge Estates apartment complex , at about 10:40 p.m. Thursday. Two women were heard arguing in the parking lot when the shots were fired, Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett . "Officers responded and located the female with a gunshot wound to the leg, but also found a female nearby in a vehicle who was unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound ," a Richmond Police spokesperson said. "She was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was not considered life threatening ." Police have called the incident a "death investigation" and said the Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. Police said they arrested a man who barricaded himself inside a unit at a Plano apartment complex Tuesday morning . Plano police said the person shot a man in the leg and ran into an apartment at the Woodlands of Plano in the 1300 block of Sherrye Drive at about 1:15 a.m. The person who was shot was taken to a hospital with injuries that police said were not life threatening. Officials said dozens of police units surrounded the apartment and evacuated a few nearby homes. A SWAT team was called to assist just after 3 a.m. Police said they took the man into custody at about 6:45 a.m. No further details have been released. The Latest on the Spain attacks (all times local): 5:15 a.m. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has asked people to pray for a young Australian boy who is missing after a vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people. Turnbull said Saturday that the boy's mother was badly injured and is in a hospital following Friday's attack at the Las Ramblas promenade . Turnbull says the boy's family is searching for him.
