A more than 250- unit apartment complex could be coming to the area between the Mall of Georgia and Coolray Field. The county’s Planning Commission is scheduled to consider a request by Pedcor Investments to recommend approval of a 256- unit apartment complex on 23.2 acres at the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Laurel Crossing Parkway next month. The site is east of Buford Drive and just south of Interstate 85 in the Mall of Georgia Overlay District . “The proposed development would add an important component to that encouraged mix of uses,” attorney Shane Lanham wrote in a letter to county officials. “Moreover, the proposed development is consistent with established development patterns and land uses in the area. “More intense commercial and office uses are dominant along major travel corridors with land uses transitioning to lower density developments moving off the roadway. NASHVILLE, TN — One person was injured in a shooting in the minutes before Monday's solar eclipse. Metro Police said the victim was hit just after 1 p.m. Monday outside the Fallbrook Apartments on Dellway Villa Avenue .
