Sara Cline The Enterprise @saraclinenews BRIDGEWATER – “I’m in the parking lot of CVS,” the caller told police . “He has a gun. He has a gun on my boyfriend. They’re trying to break into the car.”    Police were called to CVS Pharmacy, on Summer Street, around 8 p.m. for a report of a man threatening a couple with a gun.    When police arrived they saw 33-year-old Eric Wise raising a rusty brake  above his head as if he was about to strike the male near him, police said.    Police arrested Wise , of 46 Summer St., apartment 9 in Bridgewater, on the charges of assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), assault with a dangerous weapon (brake rotor) and threat to commit a crime, police said.    In addition Wise’s girlfriend,  Jamie O’Malley, 25-years-old of Taunton, was arrested on the charge of witness intimidation, police said.    The victims, a couple, told police they had pulled into the CVS parking lot they saw Wise and O’Malley nearby who “appeared to be doing some kind of ...

Police arrested one man and are searching for a second in a Thursday night fatal shooting that investigators say happened after the two victims posted a photo of themselves holding fistfuls of cash on a social media website .  Jywuan Butler, 19, was killed and his 17-year-old brother was wounded after the two were shot multiple times when two masked men dressed in black clothing entered their Sherwood Hollow Court apartment through an unlocked window about 11 p.m.,   Baton Rouge police said. While police were investigating the shooting at the Butlers' apartment in the 11600 block of Sherwood Hollow Court , they received another report of a third person who had been shot and was in a Canterbury House apartment , which is next to the Butlers' apartment complex. Coatesville man shot at Regency Park Apartments

COATESVILLE >> A city man who’s had previous run-ins with the law suffered a non-fatal shooting at the Regency Park Apartments on Monday night, and he’s now in intensive care . Police were called to the 600 block of Victoria Drive at approximately 9:47 p.m. for a shooting, and upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Jamil Battle, who was shot once in the lower back, police said. Battle was then transported to Paoli Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is currently in the intensive care unit , police said. Coatesville Police Chief Jack Laufer said Battle was found inside an apartment when police arrived on the scene, but it’s unclear where Battle was when he was shot. The Latest on the Spain attacks (all times local): 5:15 a.m. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has asked people to pray for a young Australian boy who is missing after a vehicle attack on a popular Barcelona promenade that killed 13 people. Turnbull said Saturday that the boy's mother was badly injured and is in a hospital following Friday's attack at the Las Ramblas promenade . Turnbull says the boy's family is searching for him. He did not release the boy's name. Turnbull says: "All of us as parents know the anguish his father is going through, and his whole family is going through, as they rush to seek to find him in Barcelona." Judge grants bail in Athens transgender murder case

A Western Judicial Circuit judge this week granted bail to a 21-year-old transgender person who authorities say shot and killed a member of a rival transgender group in June at an Athens apartment complex . Rayquann Deonte Jernigan , 17, who was known to friends by the chosen name of Ava Le’Ray Barrin, was killed June 25 by a single gunshot allegedly fired by 21-year-old Jalen Breon Brown in the parking lot of Riverview Apartments on College Avenue, according to police. Police said the shooting occurred due to a feud between two groups of transgender people. Brown’s defense attorney Edward Brumby said his client was granted a $100,000 bond because he had no serious felonies and was not considered to be a flight risk. While free on bond, Brown must remain under house arrest and wear an ankle bracelet, according to bond restrictions imposed Monday by an Athens- Clarke County Magistrate Court judge . Staff report LIBERTY Township police say they don’t know yet whether a boy, 2, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg about 9 p.m. Sunday on Northgate Drive, shot himself or if someone else fired at him. The injury is apparently not life-threatening because it has been described as “grazing,” Police Chief Rich Tisone said. The boy was awake and watching television at 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, the chief said. The boy, who lives on Parkcliffe Avenue in Youngstown, is believed to have suffered the wound in an apartment at 3015 Northgate Drive, just north of Northside Medical Center . The boy’s mother, 19, of Parkcliffe, told police the boy shot himself. She said she saw a handgun lying on the floor after the shooting, but when police arrived, there was no handgun in the apartment, only a shell casing, Tisone said. “What really concerns me is we don’t know if the child shot himself or if someone else shot him,” Tisone said. Two brothers shot outside Forest Ridge Apartments in Parma

PARMA -- Two brothers were shot early Saturday outside Forest Ridge Apartments , 5601 Chevrolet Blvd. Joseph Elsleger, 30, was shot once through the torso and Kenneth Elsleger, 27, was shot once in the neck. Police believe it happened during a robbery attempt. They said the wounds were serious but not critical. On Monday, Kenneth Elsleger was listed in fair condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Police said Joseph Elsleger was also taken to Metro but on Monday a hospital spokesperson said there was no record that he had been there. At least one of the brothers lives at Forest Ridge, police said. Here’s what happened, according to police: The brothers and a group of friends arrived at Forest Ridge at about 2:39 a.m. They had been to a Parma Heights bar earlier that morning.
