Man tries to rape a woman in Queens apartment building

A sicko tried to rape a woman inside a Queens apartment building, police said Saturday.

The man started a conversation with his intended victim as she walked on Forest Ave. in Ridgewood at around 1:50 p.m. before pushing her inside the vestibule of a building, cops said.

He punched the 40-year-old woman in the face before trying to rip off her sweatshirt and pull down her shorts, according to authorities.

A building resident was able to scare the man away, police said.

Cops said they are looking for a man in his early 30s with black hair, brown eyes and a dark beard. He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
