Missing 4-year-old boy found safe; grandmother arrested

ORLANDO, Fla. - A missing 4-year-old boy has been found safe and his grandmother has been arrested in connection with his disappearance, Orange County sheriff's deputies said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued an alert early Friday for Kyson Calderon, who had last been seen Thursday at the Beacon Hill Apartments near Pine Hills.

The boy and his grandmother, Gwendolyn Walker, 51, were found in the Apopka area, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Kyson's mother, Summer Granthman, said authorities tracked down Walker using the signal from her cellphone.

The boy, who deputies said was in good health, was reunited with his mother, deputies said.

When we pulled up, he was sitting there on a chair eating his chips and drinking his soda," Granthman said. "My heart was about to beat out of my chest.  I just wanted to get to him."

Grantham said she's not sure where Waler took the boy, but she's happy to have him back in her arms.

"My baby's here and he's happy and he's not hurt.  He's ok," she said.

Walker was arrested on a charge of interference with child custody.
