Colorado Springs man assaulted in home invasion

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A 21-year-old man was assaulted during a home invasion in Colorado Springs on Monday and the criminals remain at large.

Colorado Springs Police were called to the Candlewood Apartments in the 3600 block of N. Academy Monday at about 6:43 p.m. on the report of a home invasion. According to investigators, multiple people who the resident didn't know knocked on the door to the resident's apartment loudly demanding entry. Once the resident opened the door, an altercation started. The resident was assaulted both inside and outside of his apartment.

The criminals got away with multiple items. Although the resident was injured, he refused treatment and was released at the scene according to police. No suspect information was available.
