Child Killed, 3 Hurt In Antioch Apartment Fire

ANTIOCH, Tenn. - A child has died in an early-morning apartment fire in Antioch. Three others were injured in the blaze. 

The incident was reported before 4 a.m. Monday inside building 9 at the Stone Ridge Apartments on Piccadilly Row.

Officials said 3-year-old Elizabeth Dessie died in the fire. 

Her father, 33-year-old Endalamaw Dessie Tesfaye suffered burns over 80 percent of his body. Her mother, 32-year-old Ehitayehu Dessie and her 5-year-old brother were in stable condition in the hospital.

The blaze was isolated to only one building. Red Cross workers were called in to assist 22 displaced residents

The cause of the fire was unknown.
