Apartment fire forces more than 50 people out of homes

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Nearly 30 apartments were damaged by fire, on Thursday, uprooting more than 50 people from their homes.

Cobb County Fire responded around 1 p.m., Tuesday, and found the building's attic on fire.

Three people were taken to the hospital for breathing in too much smoke. Two other residents were treated at the scene for minor injuries and refused treatment.

The American Red Cross also responded to aid residents with food, clothing, and housing as well as replacement medications and other essentials. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
