Spartanburg police are investigating an attempted robbery after a man told officers someone pulled a gun on him.

A police incident report states officers responded to an apartment on Hunt Club Lane early Monday. There, the victim told them a man he didn't know dressed in all dark clothes pointed something at him and told him to "get your hands up," the report states.

The man told police he thought the attacker had a gun, according to the report.

The report states the man got inside his apartment before anything happened. The suspect is thought to have left the scene, the report states.

The investigation is ongoing.
