Woman's body found in Schererville ditch ID'd | Lake County News

SCHERERVILLE — Police have released the identity of a body found floating in a drainage ditch Wednesday morning near the Hidden Creek Apartments complex, officials said.

A cause of death has not yet been determined for September Jansky, 40, of Schererville. Cmdr. Brian Neyhart said foul play is not suspected. 

Schererville police were dispatched about 7:45 a.m. for a report of a possible body in the waterway to the south of a shopping center off U.S. 30 and Pine Island Drive, Neyhart said.

Police have opened a death investigation and requested assistance from the Lake County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit, he said.
