Teen sentenced to 10 years in Meadowbrook Parkway brick toss

MINEOLA -

A teen who hurled a brick from an overpass on the Meadowbrook State Parkway and injured two people has been sentenced.

Andrew Denton, 19, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of assault and other charges back in May.

As News 12 has reported, Denton and Jacob Palant, of Syosset, tossed a brick and cinder block from the overpass at Kellenberg High School in December of 2015.

Two people were hurt when the debris hit their windshield.

Palant is expected to be sentenced next month.
