The fire at Building 12 was due to electrical wires in the building. The fire source was reportedly located in apartment 1213, an Athens Fire Department report stated . A Phenix City woman was found shot in the head and a man found dead of an apparent self- inflicted gunshot wound at Carriage Hill Apartments on Saturday, according to a Phenix City Police Department release . Phenix City police responded to the shooting around 2:50 p.m., according to the release. The injured woman was transported to Midtown Medical Center for treatment. Her condition has not been disclosed. The deceased man was found dead upstairs in the Building V apartment. Phenix City police stated they are not releasing further information at this time. At 5:30 p.m. Saturday, investigators were removing a pair of tennis shoes and collecting evidence from the apartment.
