Coral Gables- based Roger Development Group executives halted construction at the site of what will be Midtown Apartments, located at 104 NW 17th St ., because of plans to make interior changes. Oscar Roger Jr ., vice president of the development group , said in construction when interior design changes occur, plumbing does as well. So while design changes were being ironed out, construction was slowed to avoid the costs of having people work in the meantime and potentially having to reroute plumbing again if more changes were made. Elm Creek pedestrian bridge , sidewalk to be done by Spring 2018" /> Elm Creek pedestrian bridge , sidewalk to be done by Spring 2018" /> ABILENE, Texas - Construction crews are making progress on the sidewalks next to the Elm Creek Ranch Apartments on South Clack Street . This project also includes a pedestrian bridge over Elm Creek, but it hasn't been designed yet. They began this project on May 30   and expect the entire project to be completed in Spring 2018. This project was approved by Abilene City Council in April for $352,435.

Bettendorf-- It's out with the old and in with the new for downtown Bettendorf. On August 23rd, city leaders and community members gathered at the Twin Bridges Motor Inn for the motel's demolition. City leaders said the old motel was an eyesore and unsafe. The last year it was open emergency crews had received more than 500 phone calls to that location. "The most calls to any single property in our community were to the Twin Bridges," says Mayor Bob Gallagher . Before the demolition could begin, construction crews had to remove the lead paint from the walls and the asbestos from the ceilings. The new  $ 22 million dollar buildings going up will be called "The Bridges."   Project developer Frank Levy and president of Newbury Living says they've gotten nothing but a positive response to the new buildings. (Photo: AG Architects) Construction is starting on the first phase of a $ 40 million Oak Creek apartment development that will eventually total nearly 300 units. HSI Properties LLC is beginning work this week on its Drexel Ridge project after buying the 38-acre site, west of S. Pennsylvania Ave. and north of E. Drexel Ave. HSI Drexel Ridge LLC , an HSI Properties affiliate, bought the property from Mary Voelker, of Wauwatosa, for $503,500, according to state real estate records posted Tuesday . The first phase will have 168 apartments in 12 two- story buildings , said Tony DeRosa, HSI Properties executive vice president . The first apartments are scheduled to open in June 2017, with the entire phase to be completed by March 2018, he said. Construction would then start on the second phase, with 124 apartments in eight buildings. That phase would take about a year to complete, DeRosa said. The month...
