BRUNSWICK, GA. | A Virginia man was sentenced Friday to 25 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of shooting two men at his former girlfriend’s Brunswick apartment a year ago. After hearing evidence against 30-year-old Austin Patrick Wigfall Wednesday and Thursday, the jury returned a verdict Friday finding him guilty of two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon, District Attorney Jackie Johnson said in a written statement. Superior Court Judge Stephen Kelley , who presided over the trial, sentenced Wigfall to 45 years, 25 to be served in prison and the rest on probation. On Aug. 19, 2016, Wigfall had gone to a residence in Evergreen Apartments in Brunswick to confront his former girlfriend, Johnson’s statement said.
